| Bruce and Jan came to me with their ideas on a paper napkin. I finished
the design work and drew a full set of plans based on their sketch. The country setting lent itself
to the rustic board and batten siding, to which we applied a UV protector to preserve the cedar's color.
The owners are antique collectors. The massive stone fireplace in their great room provides a wonderful backdrop for some of their old pieces. We actually incorporated their treasures into the structure—like stained glass windows and an old marble counter top. Bruce and Jan wanted to do some of the work themselves.
