Award Winning Metal Sculptor
Joe Pogan has been welding for more than 20 years, specializing in non-ferrous metals and
intricate parts. He started welding for an electronics firm in 1973. The delicate work
suited him perfectly. It required welding skills and his artist's touch.
When the company closed his division
Joe began welding aluminum bike frames by day and developing his real interest--what you see
here--in his off hours.
Joe can draw, too--realistic pieces similar to those of his famous twin brother, Jerry, who
owns Pogan's Gallery in Tahoe City, California. Joe just took his realism into the third
dimension with his unusual and delightful animal sculptures made from cast-off metal items.
The ultimate in recycling! He lives and welds in the Portland, Oregon area.
