| One of the finest getaways you can imagine. |
| Located on the South Fork of the Salmon River, about 45 miles northeast of McCall, Idaho, this gorgeous 2.3 acre
parcel is a rare find. On one of the last truly wild rivers left in the Lower 48, nature lovers will find
themselves surrounded by the breathtaking views of outback Idaho. Anglers can view protected native chinook
salmon spawning in these waters and fish for blue ribbon trout. Whitewater rafters will find some of Idaho's
best class-5 rapids downstream, before the Southfork joins with the main Salmon River. Sportsmen have access
to some of the best backcountry anywhere. Wildlife abounds. As many as many as 370 species have been identified
in a single year, including eight big game animals for hunters. This 300+ acre pocket of private land is
surrounded by thousands of acres of Payette National Forest. Just across the river is the Frank Church River of
No Return Wilderness Area, second largest in the Lower 48. It offers horsemen, hikers, back-packers and
floaters access to trail systems, clear rivers, deep canyons and rugged timbered mountains. Few places in
America — and nowhere outside Alaska — provide a Wilderness experience to match the sheer magnitude of it.
This uniquely pristine property is bordered on one side by 269 feet of river frontage and a backcountry airstrip on the other. There is a driveway/access easement and no covenants or association fees. A generous portion of this property is open meadow, ready for a cabin or hangar and large enough to fence for horses, before it slopes down to the river in timber. It is accesssible by good roads leading out of McCall through Warren, with no 4WD required during dry conditions until the deep snows of high country winter result in closures. The road is typically closed to auto traffic December-April, but is one of the most popular snowmobile tracks in Idaho during these months. The best way in is the Warren-Wagon Road out of McCall, which goes along the Secesh River through the town of Warren to the South Fork river canyon. The distance from McCall is about 45 miles, with about 25 miles of dirt road. The adjacent airstrip, located at a lower elevation and close to the river, is open most of the year and doesn't receive much snow. There are year-round residents who use snow machines or air service to procure winter supplies from nearby Warren or McCall. Year-round mail service is provided. |
